Swinging Sixties

Felling like I am channelling the 60's and thinking, maybe I was born in the wrong era?

Throughout university I used to always rummage around charity shops, and vintage shops on the hunt for unique pieces that no one would have. I liked to be different and push my creativity through my style. I would wear scarfs as dresses and any fabrics I could get my hands on, I would transform them into skirts, dresses or tops. My hair was big and backcombed, clipped up and almost resembled the look of a messy birds nest.
I was always adapting my style, I then started to wear my hair down and I found I was becoming very influenced by the famous 60's models Edie Sedgwick and Twiggy. I was obsessed with the film Factory Girl with stars Sienna Miller and Hayden Christensen playing lead roles. The make up was bold I would wear thick eyeliner around my eyes, and different printed outfits. I then went onto being a hipster but that's another story. I was excited to shot these pictures as it reminded me of the past and my university days. It is funny how everything always comes back round and trends do full circles.

AW17 defiantly has taken us down memory lane with collections inspired by decades past. Mulberry drew on its heritage to provide fun 20s frocks and tailored tweed and check. You can also see a lot of heritage inspired look from Stella McCartney's autumn/ winter 2017 collection. I LOVE IT! For this look I have paired a baker boy hat with a check dress and a pair of white gorgeous boots. It is not to complicated but it looks super cute and on trend. You have defiantly got to try and have fun with your styles and I love adapting and changing all the time, its part of growing and experimenting with who you are, how you are feeling that day and how you want to come across. If you ever get stuck and need any styling tips I am always here to help and advise you, feel free to reach out to me and I will try to get back to as many of you lovely people as I can.

P.s Scroll down for some old pictures of me and my styles, inspired by the above a few years ago when I was in my teens/ early twenties.
